This terrace consists of a gently sloping lawn bordered on all sides by a mixed planting of shrubs and perennials. On the north side a high wall shelters the numerous plants including solanums, clematis, Escallonia 'Iveyi' and a loquat (Eriobotrya japonica).

An interesting curiosity is the 80 year old Feijoa sellowiana from South America whose tiny red flowers have appeared occasionally over the years; and almost of equal age are three plants of Abelia grandiflora and an enormous variegated euonymus.
